Yankees XXVII

My friend had the idea of getting me to draw the championship Yankees and put his dad in there as a Christmas gift for said dad. Pretty great idea, I think it came out nicely.

Movie Trios Media

Some people found the movie trios on-line and posted about them. Flavorpill thinks the Stolen Kisses one would be a great gift for Charlotte Gainsbourg, and the Film Experience blog did a nice little write-up on them. Thanks yawlz.

Update: IMDb reposted the Film Experience link here. Or Film Experience reposted the IMDb link? Whatevs.

Juxtapoz Knowz Whatz Up

They wrote about M. Carter's Faces of Death tee (that I contributed to). Check it here.

Dust Jacket

Made this for a friend last week. One of the times that Woody Allen was on Dick Cavett they were talking about the idea of a perfect work of art, and one of the examples Cavett used was a story by Jean Stafford. That was the first I'd ever heard of her.

Cover illustration inspired by her story "In the Zoo."

Ilmmatic outfit, Staff!

The part you see the most if you own it.

Smoke Signals Three is Out

Read my latest published comic, "The First Literary Work of Honoré de Balzac," in the new Smoke Signals, the free all-comics newspaper printed and distributed by the indefatigable Gabe Fowler at Desert Island. The issue debuted at FABCGN (which totally went off). You can pick up SS3 at the store and other places, like maybe your favorite bar.

Elsewhere: link to the comic I did for SS1.

A Comedy, a Romance, a Mystery--in a Word: a Poster

Here's the poster I hooked up for the Film Desk re-release of Truffaut's Small Change. Go see the movie at IFC starting tomorrow. It's great. Also you can buy the poster for $25 by going to the Paypal link here or going to etsy here.

Here is the inspiration for my hand-drawn poster.
Here is a great interview thing with Wes Anderson about Small Change.

Final Month at Brooklyn Collective

My time is almost up. So if you haven't gone to Brooklyn Collective yet, and you want to see some of this stuff up close, or want to buy something from a fancy store with cash or credit (like a grownup) instead of Paypal, you still can. Go get my zine or something. Haggle a little and see what happens and then let me know what happened. It's kinda near Ikea so you could go there after. You don't have to go to Ikea. Then you could take the ferry into lower Manhattan. Then go to the J. Crew at South Street Seaport. They take Paypal there.*

Man, can you get some cool stuff at Brooklyn Collective. You could get a drawing of Jonathan Richman. You could get a drawing of Jean-Pierre Leaud, Claude Jade, and Delphine Seyrig in Truffaut's Stolen Kisses. Or you could just go see this stuff.

Enough.

*They don't take Paypal there.

Inspired by the Movie "Stalker"

Here's a small jpeg of the drawing I did that is inspired by Tarkovsky's movie Stalker. It's small so you can't just download it and print it for free because I know you want it so bad. It's framed now, 8.5/11", hanging up at Brooklyn Collective. So go check it out there.

Smoke Signal Subway Story

Now that SS #1 is all gone I figure it's time to post up what I had in there. I like the way it came out and it looks good on newsprint. But you don't get to know that if you didn't already I guess because it's sold out. (Given away.)

Page Six is a Jerk to Actors it Claims to Like

Boom! Stayed up last night and did this in one sitting because usually I take like two or three days to do these and I wanted to see how it would work to do it fast. Turns out they're not that hard as long as I don't mind only half of the heads having a likeness. It's from a Page Six feature called "Fifteen Actors We Wish Were Bigger Stars." The best thing about it is the advice they give these people they say they want to help, like "Be down with Judd Apatow" or "Star in a movie." (Paraphrasing.) They tell Brittany Murphy to get a life coach. Hey Brittany, we wish you the best you moron. Nice one, guys.
